Product Cell Type - NK Cells
Natural killer cells are a type of cytotoxic innate lymphoid cell that are critical to the innate immune response. NK cells provide rapid protection against viral infections by killing virally-infected cells. NK cells achieve this by producing cytoplasmic granules containing pro-apoptotic pore-forming proteins as well as secreting many cytokines and chemokines. Typically, immune cells detect antigen presented on infected cell surfaces, triggering cytokine release, causing lysis or apoptosis. NK cells are unique, however, as they have the ability to recognize stressed cells in the absence of prior sensitization to antigen, allowing for a much faster immune reaction. Bio X Cell offers antibodies which specifically deplete NK cells as well as antibodies which stimulate or inhibit proteins or pathways directly involved in NK cell biology.
